A non-surgical procedure where a doctor or nurse injects the PRP substance, which includes parts of the client’s own blood, into various areas of the client’s face in order to treat wrinkles, acne scars, and give the patient a younger rejuvenated appearance.
First, the provider draws about 2 teaspoons of blood.
Then, using a centrifuge, the provider isolates platelets from that blood (platelet-rich plasma or PRP)—all within about 10-15 minutes.
Then she ‘activates’ those platelets to cause the release from the platelets of at least 8 growth factors that would normally be used to heal injured tissue.
These growth factors work like magic to cause increased collagen and new blood flow. To rejuvenate new skin, these growth factors must be put back into the face.
Using numbing cream and a very small needle (for almost no pain), the provider injects the client’s own growth factors back into her face in a particular way. These growth factors then activate multipotent stem cells already in the skin
PRP results typically begin to show 3-4 weeks after treatment and continue to improve over time. For best results, three treatments are generally recommended, spaced about 1-2 months apart.
Clients typically report smoother skin texture and improved tone, decreased wrinkles and fine lines and an overall firmer appearance.
Stem cells can be found in every part of the body, including our skin. The PRP substance activates the stem cells that lie dormant in the skin on the through certain growth factors found in the platelets.
When activated, those stem cells grow new, younger-looking skin. Thanks to the PRP Facelift, clients can now enjoy a younger looking appearance through a very safe and effective procedure!
